I have tons and tons of flower photos, so I’m making them into pendants! I’ll be adding them to my shop over the next several days.
I also have a ton of insect photography but I’m really not sure how well those would do. haha. I mean.. I think it would be cool to have a big cicada or caterpillar closeup around my neck, buuut… heh. What do you think?
So I made a few BIG pendants last week. These ones are all one of a kind because you’ll actually be wearing the original watercolor illustration around yer neck. I’m having fun doing the little teensy paintings. I haven’t worked this small probably since I stopped doing ACEOs a couple of years ago.
The featured artisan for the month of March is DesignByNora. She sells some wonderful purses in her shop, as well as really cute earrings and paper products. Pretty well rounded!
My absolute favourite item of hers is “Tina’s Purse.” Love the black and red faux leather combination!
A few days ago I made a big run of pendants. It was nice to get so many done in such a (relatively) short amount of time. It’ll definitely save me time later.
I also started a new painting yesterday, but it’s still top secret. Otherwise known as I haven’t uploaded any progress photos yet.
And now if you’ll excuse me, my husband is taking me to IHOP for our anniversary. Yes, I really am that easy to please.
I just added a couple more pendants to my Etsy Shop, including this one.
I remember this being an especially fun/interesting painting to do because I was trying out a new (to me) technique with acrylics. It was built up slowly over many glaze layers. I think it was about 25 layers in total. I actually haven’t done another acrylic painting like it.
Anyway, I like how this pendant turned out. I think the dark blue necklace (instead of black) compliments it nicely.
Here’s a quick video of the painting’s progression!
The husband-creature’s office has been the very last room that we’ve tried to make at least semi-decent. He always insisted he liked his primer white walls and lack of decorating. (When really what that meant was, “I just don’t want to bother.”)
We’re taking baby steps with that room and it’s finally starting to shape up. A big part of it is these vinyl wall decals we purchased from Mark James Design on Etsy.
T picked them out and then I put them up for him one day while he was gone. Even though those trees look (and are) ENORMOUS, it was a very simple process and I love the results! There are blue birds on their way right now that will be sitting on a few of the branches.
We’re definitely going to be doing some more decorating with wall decals but I can see how you could easily go overboard with something like this.
This chick has the coolest shop. She makes paper goods out of recycled junk mail and embeds seeds in them. You can give someone a birthday card, they can water it and have a flower. Yay!
